Neighbor-to-Neighbor Email Example

THANK YOU. Unofficial results show that the override passed with 72% of the vote. Read more.

This note is based on a real email a supporter sent to their neighbors.  We have edited it to remove identifying details, and you can (and should!) make it your own.  But it’s a great example of an authentic, friendly note.

Hello X Street neighbors!

[X] and I have always supported necessary overrides in Arlington in an effort to preserve and support the services and systems that exist here. You may have seen that we put out a sign (first time ever) and I am reaching out to ask you to join us and support the override as well.

Now, when so many people are concerned and even overwhelmed and discouraged at times (as I am) we may lose sight of the power we have to act to ensure the continued vibrancy, stability and resources of the place where we live. We believe voting YES for the override is an important way to be a good neighbor to everyone who lives in Arlington.

[X] and I hope you and your families are well and, like us, are looking forward to a lovely spring after a pretty tough winter!

We are all well; [X] continues to be busy at [COMPANY].  [X] keeps herself (and us!) on the go with soccer, school and working at X in the center.  I am fully retired, but I contribute time occasionally to various small projects with other retired colleagues. Right now I am very much looking forward to the first days in spring when I can begin to prepare our gardens for summer.🪴

Please keep in touch!

Take care and thank you.

Best,

X
